3. On the blog (optional extra credit): Write about someone you admire. Tell why you admire them

It’s Jonathan Edwards that I admire most. At first, I didn’t know much about him until I started reading books about him. Since I started reading those books, I got shocked by his passionate life in faith.
He is one of the greatest believers with John Calvin and Augustine in Christian history. Some people say that Calvin and Augustine have a great effect on Christian history, specifically in Protestant history, though Jonathan Edwards is the greatest one. Each of these great theologians have a feature in their theology. Firstly, Augustine had a broad knowledge of the world, and it is well shown through his works. Secondly, the feature of John Calvin is conciseness in his work. The essence of his conciseness is well shown in the book that he compiled the whole Christian doctrines into it. Lastly, though they were great theologian without dispute, Jonathan Edwards had something different form them, which is one of the reasons some people estimate him superior to the others in some way. It is the depth of his theology. His work is full of profound insight.
Another reason that I admire him is that he was a person who never let himself lazy and satisfied but tried to live a life rightly in God. In his mind, there was nothing but Jesus. He didn’t want to feel or have anything if it’s against getting to know God and growing his faith in Jesus. He made decisions everyday to live more like Jesus and estimate his life himself if the decisions were retained.
I’ve never imagined if there has been a person like him who struggled incredibly hard to live after Jesus. I hope someday God made me as passionate as he was in faith like he did to him.
